Trust Your Heart Birthday Commission

Trust Your Heart

Progress picture

I had the great privilege of painting a commission for a little girl who turned 9 this week. I’m always curious what someone’s painting is going to be. This particular 9 year old is very entrepreneurial and intellectual. Apparently she’s been interested in having her own business since she was 2! When I delivered her commission she shared with me that she finally came up with an idea that she is excited about. It’s a printed newsletter that includes different themed content every month, space for local businesses to advertise, and other fun information. Her offer is a three or 6 month subscription and she planned to offer it to all the neighbours. Of course, I subscribed, too! I’m so excited to be a part of her vision. I can tell you that at 9 I hadn’t the slightest idea about being an entrepreneur. My head was in the clouds or with my dolls.

Her painting is a sunflower and this is the message that came with it.

Your heart always knows the answer. You can consult with the reason of your mind and the two can work together to create the best course of action. Always remember who knows the answer in moments when you need clarity, and turn there first. It is better to sit and wait than to rush ahead thinking your mind knows best. Your heart will guide you. Sometimes it will need time for you to become patient enough to hear it.
